How do you make your own ringtones for free?

i need help. i want this one song for my ringer but every site i go to i have to download all this stuff. my sister did it for free and they just texted the ringtone right to her phone. anybody know anything like that? anything will help

there is a site called jamster.com but personally i use a program that i have loaded on my computer to make ringtones .
