I would like to make my home wi-fi signal stronger somehow. Currently, I have a Linksys WRT150N Wireless-N Wifi Router. It works with a Bright House Networks Cable Modem and EarthLink High Speed Cable Internet. The comp. I'm using now runs Windows Vista with a Linksys RangePlus Wireless PCI Adapter I bought and installed a few days ago. The router is about in the middle of the house, and my comp. is pushed all the way to the back wall in the back of the house (3 bed 2 bath house). I get three bars of signal, which Vista says is "fair". I would like to use it to listen to online radio or movies, but is has to re-buffer about every 20 seconds or so. We do have city-wide WIFI, but it doesn't always work that well (usually i get a "bad" signal.)

Thannks to anyone in advance :)

P.S.: Righ now it is set to Wireless-N only and the signal is set to wide. It is capable of sending a G, B, N, MIXED, OR BG MIXED signal.

  1. what you need is an wifi antenna booster. it sure will help boost ur signal receiving capability.

  2. You can try and get some range boosting antennas, a wireless repeater or move your AP closer to where you mostly are (if possible). You can also set the Channel to 11 which will give the strongest signal. You also have to remember that going through a wall in a building for wireless is rought because it degrades the signal.
