How do you make yourself feel better about yourself?

i always dwell on the bad things in life how can i make everyting better-ish

  1. Think about the best case scenarios! Think about how good everything is going to be, work towards that dream and goal, and it will happen! And now? Get out your favourite CD, turn it up and just enjoy some great music :)


  2. Figure out who taught you that you are not competent and then figure out that they were wrong.  

  3. Always tell yourself, at least you're alive so make it the best life you can. :)<3

  4. Think of all the positive things you have in life ( friends, family, etc.)


  5. you need to try new things your like me if i don't try new things to do something fun life becomes boring and as you say depressed. Try riding a bike or going to the lake do things you wouldn't do party's? Do what feel's right.

  6. Sit in a quiet place on a comfortable chair, feet on ground, hands in lap.

    Close your eyes

    Imagine all the parts of your body relaxing, one area at a time.

    Imagine the space around you as safe.

    Feel the air, temperature; hear the sounds.

    Think of the universe and see a being holding you in its hands.

    Feel how it loves and accepts you.

    Relax into it.

    Ask it a question: How can I learn to accept myself?

    Wait for the answer.  It may come then or hours later when you have come back to this plane.

    Thank the being,

    And know you can come back,

    Slowly return to this plane and thank yourself for taking time to feel loved.

Your mental focus determines the quality of your life.  Look at the enclosed article which mentions the outlook for one of the countries wealthiest people.  Focus on all that is going for you.  There are wonderful qualities within all of us.  Many throw it all away by worrying about all that is "wrong" with them.  Instead, concentrate on what is right about you.

  8. always think positive. even if negative thoughts dominate your brain force yourself to think good. stand in front of the mirror look into your own eyes and tell that you refuse to be depressed and sad. no matter how hard your brain tries you will fight i. you are the king of yourself and wont let your mind control you.

    roam around to pleasent places like a beautiful park or garden.

    this is really a good technique- grow plants which give pretty flowers. have a fish tank in your house/room - they always calm us down.

    most importantly always keep yourself busy. dont give time to your brain to brood on stupid things that depress you. join yoga classes.

    and last but definitely not the least eat chocolate. it really helps in cheering up. its been proven scientifically.

  9. How to stop the downward spiral?  

    First I have to determine if what I am CHOOSING to feel poorly about is anything that I can directly change.  If not, I get to 'release' it with all the other 'Billions of things' that I cannot control, feel gratitude, then get out of my 'self pity', and reach out to another human being.

    When I get into 'service', and unselfishly give, I am proving or witnessing the 'Grace' of God, in trusting that my 'problems' are in the hands of the 'Master', and no longer any of my business

    i find that when I try to hang on to the problems of which I can do nothing, I am using this as a distraction, justification, rationalization, and excuse, out of fear, to NOT take action where I CAN make a positive difference.

    It could be time for you to 'get busy', even if you just clean up the house, wash a window, anything to actually SEE yourself making a POSITIVE result.

  10. This seems pretty stupid but, it works.

    Get a paper and write all the things that depresses you, then read it twice and squash it in your hands and throw it far away from yourself.

    you'll feel better about yourself.

  12. i use self motivation because i have very low self esteem and i am depressed allot so i try to just keep busy and not think about it much
