How do you mark/check multiple photos to be imported in iphoto???

Question

I want to import a lot of picture, just not all of them. I don't want to import each one separately. How can I mark/check multiple photos to be imported, or can I even do that?

If you hold down the Ctrl Key when selecting the photos you can select as many as you want and then click the "import selected" button
