  1. take a measuring tape w/ inches on it and measure from the center of his chest to his tail round the number you get to the next highest inch and thats his size you round up b/c bigger is better than smaller

  2. From the center of his chest to the center of the tail.

Oh...getting a sheet that has gussets on the shoulders (pleats) help with his shoulder movement so the scrim won't be pulled on every step.

Back leg surcingles work great at keeping the back held down.  I don't like the buckles on one of mine.  I prefer the quick snaps on the straps.

If I were to keep a fly sheet on him at all times I'd get one with the belly cover/flap/thingamajig.  Those flies eat at that midline like crazy!

you get what you pay for!  If you pay $30 then it will give you about $20 worth of use (a week or two).

    Have fun shopping!

  3. Measure around his girth to see how fat he is then go from the shoulder blades to the head of the tail and that;s how long it should be.

  4. It's really important to measure properly. If you get  a blanket that's too tight, it will rub and cause your horse to get bald, itchy spots.

Okay, first things first, you need a measuring tape. Not a ruler, cause those suck when measuring horses.

Measure from the center of the chest along the side of the barrel and belly to the point just before the tail.

Keep this measurement, and when you go to buy your blanket, it should have the sizes in units.

    Good Luck.

  5. Measure from the center of his chest, down his side to the center of the tail.

If you are between sizes always go up to the next size (ie, you measured a 73" and the blanket comes in a 72" and 74")

  6. You measure in Inches from the center of his chest to the center of his butt or tail really.

  7. Grab a meaureing tape and start where your horse's neck meets the center of his chest. Move the tape down his side as far as you can reach and remember that measurement. Then continue with the same number and move the tape toward his tail. (I always stop measureing where i want the blanket to end, so dont measure to much or the blanket will be huge) Got that number? Then add your two numbers and you have your size measurment. Write it down and bring it with if you go to the store and just ask for help.

  8. It depends if you are in Europe or N. America, as they each measure differently.

EDIT: Now, I really don't expect the person who thumbed me down to own up to it, but who ever you are, you really need to educate yourself before you incorrectly judge!!!

See at the bottom of the link a body size chart, and Europe CLEARLY measure blankets differently to N. America.!!!

Tell you what, who ever thumbed me down, just message me with an explaination as to why you thumbed me down, that way nobody else will have to know!!! Lol!!
