How do you measure a pelvis bone?

I know you can determine s*x of a skeleton from the angle of the pubic bone but how do you measure the pelvis bone?

  1. It's the PELVIC bone, le BASSIN in French.  I've never had to measure one...

  3. the pelvic  bone's angular distinction is a methodology for dicerning the gender of skeletal remains...measuring it would be a function to deduce overall size of the person or abnormalities, hence measuring it conventionally is done by massing it or taking a three dimensional topical computer to assess its surface area.  Allowing for a comparitive analysis.   There is a crude way of doing it on site.  just hold it anatomically with a the lowest point touching a flat surface and use tailor tape to eyeball.
