How do you measure fingers for bowling ball?

I want to purchase a bowling ball online and they offer drilling at a cost which is much, much cheaper than at my local bowling center, but how do I know if I need the medium or large size holes? How do you measure your fingers? I wear a ladies size 8 ring, probably a 9 on my middle finger.

http://www.bowlingball.com/info/basic-drilling-service.html this link has a chart but I don't understand what it means. Thanks!

  1. You do realize the drilling that Bowlingball.com is offering is for a conventional grip. If you want a fingertip grip, which is the preferred grip, you will want to go to a local pro shop. If not, see if the pro shop can measure your hand and get a copy of it so that you can give it to the website.

    Hope this helps. Good luck.

  2. The best way would be for you to purchase the discounted bowling ball online from bowlingball.com then have your local pro shop perform the fitting, measuring and drilling.

If you give them the S-M-L-XL measurements, it will be for a conventional grip bowling ball similar to the "house ball" drillings at the bowling center.  It will not be fine tuned to your hand and span measurements, may not have adequate bevel around the hole edges for comfort, will not have a thumbslug or finger grips, nor will it be semi-fingertip or fingertip or whatever grip you are using.

If they don't do a proper job on the bowling ball, you may have to foot the bill in sending it back, or they may not take it back it all since they drilled it.  If you have your local pro shop do the drilling, you will not have to go far to have it adjusted.  Good luck!
