  1. There are two different measurements that are used, today. The most common one used and referred to though, is the wingspan measurement. A boxer is pretty much standing like a "T" and he is measured from finger tip of one arm to the finger tip of the other arm. The upper torso measurement is also included in this measure, which is why you get more than just the total length of both arms. So if you ever see on TV where it's mentioning a person's reach over 60 inches, then you can best believe it is wingspan measurement.

The other reach measurement, which is not highly referred, is the arm length measure. It is strictly the measurement of the person's arm, starting from armpit to the finger tip. If you ever see on TV where someone's reach or measurement is anywhere between 20 and 30 inches, then this is the method that was chosen to be recorded.

  2. both arms spread out finger tip to finger tip

  3. Span. Finger tip to finger tip.  A lot of the time it will be around the same as your height.

To the halfwit who said it's from the pit of your arm, give yourself an uppercut!! Kelly Pavlik has a reach of 75 inches, if it was from his arm pit he would be dragging his hands on the ground!!!

  4. finger tip to fingertip spread wings

  5. wingspan

  6. its from under the arm by the pit until the end of a closed fist and of corse it includes both arms as a boxer fights with both the left and the right
