  1. to get cubic feet all you do is multiply the depth by the width by the height.  This will give you the volume the refridgerator takes up.  For the internal capacity, there really is no way without having the product specs.  If you are looking to  purchase a new one to fit an existing space, take the three measurements with you, and a measuring tape, and measure the ones in the store, allow for a little clearance on all sides so you can be sure it fits.  Also, don't forget to measure your door openings, it would suck to get it home only to find you can't get it into the house.

  2. To fit a refrigerator into a space, you don't measure the cubic feet.  Refrigerators say they have so many cubic feet, but it has nothing to do with the outside dimensions.

Here is an example of a refrigerator Sears has on sale:

    Freezer 7.1 cu ft

    Overall 25 cu ft

    Width 35-3/4 in

    Height 69-3/4 in

    Depth 34 -1/4 in

If your space was 30 inches wide (2.5 feet), 30 inches deep(2.5 ft) and six feet vertical, 2.5 x 2.5 x 6 = 37.5 cu ft.  But you sure could not put Sears frig into that space.  Get the idea?
