How do you measure your knuckles for UFC glove sizing?

I want to buy a pair of UFC gloves, but I'm confused about how to measure my knuckles. A website said that a 7" knuckle length is small, but going from my pointer finger to my pinky is like 2 1/2". I don't think I'm measuring right, how do I do this?

that's because you're supposed to measure all the way around your knuckles. if you don't have measuring tape, cut a piece of string, wrap it around your hand at the knuckles, mark where the strings meet, and measure the length.
