Question:

How do you move a birds nest to a new location?

We removed a large amount of ivy off the house today and behind it was a birds nest with a baby in it. The mother flew off and the baby fell out. We picked up the baby and placed it back in the nest and put it safely in a tree nearby. Will the mother find it and come back to it or what is the best thing to do?

  1. It depends how big the baby was. If it had no feathers and it's eyes were not open I think you will probably find it dead in the nest tomorrow. However, if it had feathers/fluff it will be able to keep itself warm and will call for its mother to feed it. It really is a toss up whether the mother will return or not. If there is too much of your scent on the nest and the baby, she may abondon it anyway. Best of luck - let us know what happens.
