How do you move to a different state easily and stress free?

Just picking up and moving to California?

Where do you start? What all needs to be done? Checklist?

We both want to live in Moreno Valley (family), but it just seems like its too much to do to even get a head start and just go and do it. We live in Kansas now and we both have jobs and cars (i want to sell mine and get something cheaper).

it's all about attitude! Take your time, do your research. Make lists. Check the local paper of your "new neighborhood" to find potential jobs and places to live. Decide what will stay behind and what you'll bring, how big a truck you'll need, how many days it will take to drive to CA and where you'll stop along the way. Make sure you have enough saved so that if/when things don't go exactly right, you won't have to worry so much. The most important thing is to make at least a couple of visits there to explore, maybe find a place to live and set up interviews for jobs. This is what we did when we moved from Las vegas to Nashville 7 years ago with 3 generations and 7 people! We've also done it from the SF bay area to Tahoe and Tahoe to LV, so we've gotten to be experts!

I live in California... The Golden State is all lies. It's exactly like Kansas but with beaches.
