How do you move turtles (3)?i am moving to south carolina and with a u-haul it is a 16 hour drive down.?

what kind of container? water? bedding? food? help me! my turtles are my babies!(I HAVE 3!)

  1. Place them in a plastic container with water. the water will keep the hydrated, and the plastic will resist any impact of your turtle against it (for example, like when braking suddenly). I would put a turtle per container in hope of minimizing stress. The container should be tall enough to where the turtle cannot climb and escape. I would use a container with lid - the lid being perforated for flow of fresh air. Also, if you are moving across state lines, you might want to check with the the wildlife commission of the new state in regards to turtle regulations.


  2. Your best bet would be to put them in a box and put a little container of water and drop some food in the box before you leave.

  4. I would get a plastic bin and put some water in it. Do not need much just enough to keep them hydrated (I would probably fill it till the water comes to the spot where the top and bottom shells meet). You can put food in there but I don't really think they will eat it, they will be stress. Check on them every time you stop and they should be fine. Also don't let them get real cold or to hot.
