  1. Firstly, get a teacher! DO IT! Unless you already can play one instrument and know how to read sheet music and know your way around some theory, you have absolutely no chance to learn how to play properly. Believe me, I have seen it countless times...all the mistakes, wrong approach, bad habbits...sometimes it was laughable. You can't teach yourself and you don't want it - it's a horrible waste of time at best...in worse, it might result into what I had mentioned.

Playing fast, well, I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you mean playing fast solos (left hand) like this:

...then it takes years. If you mean quick strumming, then it takes from a feww weeks to months. What can help here is alternate picking (upstroke, downstroke, up, down, up, down etc. not down, down, down!), this doubles your speed. However, you are in disadvantage that you're a girl because you will obviously have weaker arms than men. It helps if you do some exercises with a dumbell to strengthen your muscles. This is what you need to do if you do use alternate picking already, if you don't, then alternate picking is the solution.

    Good luck

  2. Its down to practice and natural talent, if you ask a sprinter how they run so fast they will tell you the same thing.  Having fast fingers will help you become a talented player as well.

  3. It takes a couple of YEARS of practicing EVERY DAY to build up to the speed some guitarists can reach... you don't do it in a week and a half... ASK YOUR TEACHER... because you won't ever be any good if all you do is try to teach yourself for FREE using the internet.
