How do you open Swiffer Wet Jet battery compartment?

Our swiffer wet jet wont spray. we have had it for a while a thought that the batteries may need replacement. I have no idea where to put them in, how to open it up, anything. We are also thinking that the bottle was placed in incorrectly. Help! muddy pawprints plague our house.

underneath the button to pop the bottle out is a little lever that you press down and pull that is the battery compartment. I'm pretty sure you cant put the bottle in any other way than the way its supposed to go but to make sure make sure the front of the bottle where it says swiffer wet jet is facing to the left when you face the swiffer forward like when you are about to use it and you face it away from you. hopefully you dont face it towards you to use it lol
