How do you open a door without a door nob?

I assume the hardware other than the door k**b is still in the door? If that is the case, put a screwdriver in the horizontal bolt hardware where the door k**b used to be and pull back on it. Back meaning away from the wall it is latched into.

You can use a screwdriver to turn the latch mechanism.  That's probably the easiest way.  Otherwise, you can pop the pins out of the hinges (if accessible), ir try to pop the lock with a credit card or putty knife.  Hope this helps.
