Ha, I looked this question up because I couldn't get mine open either and I thought I was crazy.  (I always feel better when other people have the same problems.)

But I just got it open.  You probably already have yours open now, since you asked yesterday.  But for anyone else searching for the question, you have peel the black and red dotted sticker off the very top.  Then pry one side of the package open with all your strength.  Then pull the red tab that's hanging out at the top while prying the other side open and the cd holder will slide out.

It takes a lot of strength, anger, and bad words.  But right when you're about to give up, you get it.  It makes the program feel more rewarding knowing that you have to be tough to get into it.....

That's what I would like to know. This is friggin ridiculous........short of breaking the box there seems to be no way in.

Maybe you have to have a college degree to open this d**n thing. Sadly, that's what we're trying to obtain with it..........

PS: yeah, we got ours open too, and it's true, it takes a lot of brute force and a selection of swear words, oh yeah, and you have to hold your tongue just right. I'm sure the way we got in there wasn't the way the designer intended, but he/she should be hanged anyway.

What really ticked me off was that Microsoft wants to charge $49 for advice on their website(not like I could find where to ask THIS kind of question on their anyway). I mean, hey, this is not a $20 piece of software. Thanks a lot, MS.

PPS: I got ours at Walmart and you don't honestly believe that the kid in electronics there would have the foggiest idea on how to get into anything that isn't a RPG.
