How do you open the security lock on DVD cases?

I bought this new DVD yesterday n my whole family can't figure out how to open it! It has a little picture of a red lock that is closed n a green one that is unlocked. it's stuck on the closed one! How do i open it?

I hate it when they forget to unlock it, force it open.

You should take it back and ask them to unlock it, but if you want a broken case then cut it open lol I know this because it has happened to me before!

If you bought it yesterday, you should still have the receipt accessible. Take it back to the store with the receipt (so you can prove that you didn't nick it) and ask them to unlock it for you.

when i got a dvd like that i just got scissors and cut it open it took ages though
