How do you open up an insurance office. I'm located in NJ I took the producer course but not sure how to open an office. Any advice.

I'm not sure that would be the best thing to do just starting out.  I would advise you to go to work with someone who already has an agency established and see how it works and let them teach you the ropes for a couple of years before you make the plunge to do it on your own.  It is very difficult to make enough money your first year in the business to pay the overhead of an office.  You might just start by using a room at your home as your "home" office if you don't want to work for someone else.  That's a pretty broad question and would take a lot more than this space to answer.

  3. No insurance company will "appoint" you to represent them, as you have no track record to prove yourself. They all want certain minimum amounts of premium written for them.

    Find a good mentor who will take you under their wing and teach you how to be successful.
