How do you organise a school reunion?

Hi,

I'm planning to have a school reunion for my school later this year that I went to in Gippsland during the 90's.

I've never organised a school reunion before and would like some suggestions on how to organise one from people who have done it before?

Thank you

From Clint

  1. Try Facebook for looking up people, and create an event page for the reunion and go from there.

  2. http://www.friendsreunited.com.au is a good general site.

http://www.stjoestech.org.au this school was closed twenty years ago. Saint Josephs Technical School South Melbourne is using the website but Abbotsford is using the Sunday Herald Sun reunions page.

Also go to your old school & ask for help such as old mailing list.

  3. Make sure you have enough ammunition.

  4. Hi Clint,

Try the Reunion Organiser on friendsreunited.com.  It's free to register a basic account and has heaps of Australian schools listed.

    Regards,

    Michael.

  5. Good answers so far but you need to plan where events will be happening on reunion day. For instance choose a local spot  for social hour. You know drinks and food.Sometimes a class member will host it in their home unless there are to many people. We gathered at our old school to give recognition to some class mates.Remember the most likely to......bla bla bla.Be creative and have fun.

  6. I agree with John D.

Start a group for your school and add the schoolfriends you already have on your page. Then they can add others.. and people can search for your school... after a month or so see how many people you have and make an event.
