  1. In my room the brushes are in a hand turned wooden cup I made in my shop,......... coffee cup, McDonald's plastic cup would do the same thing...

all makeup i carry in my purse is in a zip-lock freezer bag.....

  2. Well my camera's broken so I cant take a pic but my brushes are in a brush roll. which this case that rolls out. My make up is mainly in my mac train case. My eyeshadows are in palettes.

  3. I can't send photos just give advice.  My answer is long, but I believe it will help you tremendously.   Please read it all.

I love makeup and I have a cheap and easy way to keep my suppies easily accessible and neat that I created years ago.

I organize my makeup in a plastic box - the size made for shoes without the top.  For my eye make up pencils and brushes, I use two small two glasses (large medicine bottles will work too) that are each about 4" tall and 1 1/2" in diameter. I stand the brushes on end - of course not the brush end - and also stand the pencils up.  For mascara and liquid eyeliners liners I found a little sturdy cardboard box - I think it originally held tea bags and I trimmed it to about 2 1/2" wide, 3" tall and about 8" long.  It holds several mascaras, my eyelash curler along with liquid liners and bottled or liquid eyesahdows.  All of these fit neatly into the main container.

For my face powders, blushers, bronzers, powdered eyeshadows, etc. I simply arrange them in little stacks and rows around the box on either their sides or bottoms around the glasses and box.  I keep the ones I use the most frequently nearest the top of the rows or stacks.  But you could use little boxes modified in height for different shadow, powder and/or blusher compacts

The container fits neatly in my bathroom cabinet and is easy to access with all my makeup in one place.

As for brushes in my purse, if I cannot find the brush style I want in a compact form - in other words - with a twist up action or a lid/cover, I carry them in a little makeup bag by themselves so nothing comprises the brush ends.

I don't buy regular make up brushes.  I splurge on fine artist's brushes made of sable or camel hair.  They are costly, not as costly as fine makeup brushes, and are much more durable. I use different brushes for light and dark eyeshadows, lipliners, blushers and powders. I clean them after each by simply brushing them across a dry, small face cloth several times to remove excess buildup.  II keep the face cloth  on top of the main container.   I take very good care of them and I have several brushes that have lasted 20 years!!

I keep the brushes in great condition by cleaning them in gently in warm water and making sure to get every bit substance out of them with detergent like Woolite or baby shampoo frequently, rinsing them in warm warter again very well until the water is completely clear and then squeezing excess water out with a soft wash cloth, manipulating  the actual brush end to it's original shape and then air drying them on a flat surface on a clean towel overnight.  I usually clean them at least once a month.

  4. I have a brush roll, but a lot of people use containers and fill it with color fill (found at your local craft store) then decorate the outside of the container by wrapping it in paper, fabric, painting it, etc, then tying a pretty ribbon around it!
