When you have a flash of inspiration for anything- an amazing outfit, great short story plot, unique photoshoot-, how do you organize your thoughts?

Like, do you keep all your inspirational pictures in a binder, or do you have a notebook where you write down ideas...?

  1. Think of a collection of moveable, concentric, circles - each one a little smaller than the one before it. The circles are joined at their centres so that they can spin freely and independently from one another.

Each circle is a category, and each category contains a number of selections. For example, one category could be 'conflicts', and the selections would be 'person vs. person', 'person vs the unknown', 'person vs...' et cetera.

    Next category....resolutions.

    Next - characters...

    and so on.

This tool allows a person to articulate what he or she knows intuitively.

I copyrighted the idea in 1982.

  2. i always carry a notebook round with me

  3. Whenever I have some kind of inspiration for something I immediately try to find a piece of paper or a notebook or whatever I can and just try to outline it the best that I can.  If I forget about anything, I try to go back later, reread what I wrote down and just think about it.  I am a business owner/web designer and thats what I do whenever I have an idea about something new to do or try.
