How do you overcome stage fight?

I have a little problem.

When I perform in front of an audience I just freeze up & forget what to say.

How do I overcome this?

I can only sing & dance with no one is watching me.

When I perform in front of an audience I'm just afraid to mess up & make a fool of myself even though I'm a good singer & dancer.

I would just practice your routine/song every day for one hour.

The best thing for you to do is to perform in front of your friends.

You could sing/dance the song you are doing for your performance.

Wear your performance attire, your hair up, some makeup, jazz/ballet shoes to show off your toe points, no jewerly, & hairspray to keep your hairstyle last longer.

Just have fun & try to be the best you can be.

I know you'll do fine.

And don't forget to drink lots of water & get at least 8 hours of sleep to night before.

Well start out small sing in front of your bathroom mirror. Then went you feel good about that sing in front of your best friend or a family member or two. then so on and so on. And as you feel better about it you will be able to sing in front of people. For the dancing do everything I said before but dance in your room. Dancing in the bathroom won't be a good idea!)

You have to Preform in front of people at home. Ask your mom or dad or both and say "Hey can i tell you this monolouge" And of course there going to listen.

Practice as often as you can.

I had a performance coming up once and I was so nervous. I was scared I would forget every word that I was supposed to say. So to help me, I practiced in front of people as often as I could. I asked teachers to let me do it in front of my classes (most of them allowed it). I did it for friends when we were hanging out. I said it as often as I could when people were watching me.

Then when it came time to perform, I had given it so many times in front of people I wasn't comfortable with that I was fine!
