  1. Powder coat... The metal is electrostatic-ally charged and a dry (paint)dust is blown at the metal which sticks because of the charged electrons.

This is now put in an oven and the dust is melted over the metal in an even coat. The pores in the metal open up due to the heat and form a strong bond with the paint. You can find powder coating in the phone book or google it. It' slightly more expensive but WORTH it. Good luck- Black rims look cooler.

  2. if you have metal rims i would get a paint remover from wally world or auto zone 3-4 bucks if not if they are alloy try and scuff the rims a lil with really high grit sandpaper and then clean with acetone....that outa work to get the paint to stick

  3. u dont

  4. If you want them to look good, and STAY looking good for more than a year or two, you need to have them professionally done. The canned stuff will fade and look dull quickly, good paint is expensive, but wheels are small, I would think any decent body shop could do a light sanding, and/or blasting, and then spray them with a good urethane and clearcoat, probably for only a few hundred.

  5. you have to sand them off real good and then use good primer then lightly sand it and paint them, its best to have a shop do this if you want them to last real good they can use a better brand and type of paint for this that will last longer, but a good brand spray paint will last a long time, good luck.

  6. Not the best way on earth but the cheapest, buy a can or two of duplicolor wheel paint.

Beyond that you could have them professionally painted or even better professionally powdercoated.
