I know you turn the wheels to the curb (downhill is right, uphill is left) but then what?

1. Step on the brake

2. Turn the wheels to the appropriate direction

3. Shift to "park"

4. Set the parking break

Is that right?

  1. Yep thats pretty much it.

Unless your car is an old one and you don't trust the parking brakes, then put a wheel chock or a stone behind the wheel.

  2. yeah it's rite...but ur probably gonna want 2 turn off the engine after

  3. You are right on the mark and good luck....

  4. Step on the brake

Turn your wheels in the correct direction

Shift to NEUTRAL and release your foot slowly from the brake to allow your vehicle's weight to settle back from the curb (easier on your front tire/wheel/suspension)

    Foot back on the brake

    Set Parking Brake

    Shift to Park

Doing a hill park with a curb in this way will prevent wear and tear on your front end.

If you are parking any other way..........do it this way......to save your transmission.......especially when parking on an incline in a driveway, etc.

    Brake to a stop

    Set the Parking Brake

Shift to Neutral and take your foot slowly off the brake to allow the car's weight to settle

    Shift to Park

  5. You got it!!!

  6. I would chock the wheels also.

    Is it a forklift truck?
