How do you pass a note in class without the teacher finding out?

I need a good way of passing notes to my friends without my teachers catching me. Any ideas?

put the note inside a book and casually pass the book :)

hahaha my friends and i would also stuff little notes in sharpeners, pen lids and the paper covers over erasers and pretend we were letting them 'borrow' that piece of stationary

only do it before or after class, and not during a lesson
