How do you pass the interview stage @ red lobster ? (I failed it)?

So I walk in to red lobster and ask for a job. With resume and application in hand, she seemed quite eager to hire me as she (Diana) told me that they have two positions open.

I took a personality/ knowledge test which I passed.I moved on to the "1st" interview.

Confidently but not cocky, I answered a series of questions. I gave him (Jin) humble responses, we had that great "interview chemistry", laughing a little but still holding a professional demeanor, and answering every question in full complete sentences. He took his written responses somewhere for a minuet.

I was thinking "surely I'll be working here soon" and i'm a bit excited to FINALLY start working.

So he comes back and tells me that "I failed the test".

I said "o.k. no problem" thinking that he was joking...

then he walked away...

When I asked him what I did wrong he said he couldn't "compromise the test"

Dumbfounded and utter disbelief, I reflected... "What did I do wrong?"

  1. You may have failed because the other candidate would do it for less.

    Competition is fierce right now.

  2. Some places use an interviewing "rubric" which grades you from one to five on traits they are looking for.  This is an example of one:

So you would get so many points for how you acted and if you didn't get enough points, you failed the test.

Kind of dumb but it's probably possible you may not get a job at red lobster for wearing sneakers....
