How do you pass time in a long car ride?

Question

My friend and I are driving about 8 hours. Whats a good way of keeping occupied and making the time pass? I'm driver, by the way.

well if you are the driver may I suggest you play car games like the license plate game where you look at peoples license plates and try to go through the whole alphabet or you could do the same thing but instead of license you look at signs.

Talking makes the time go the fastest from my own experience.  

You can also share the driving duties and snooze for part of the trip ( makes it more boring for the driver but the trip will only feel half as long if you both nap while not driving ).

i also count how many blue cars in each state...etc or we go by make and model.. or compete with my son on whoever sees more yellow cars, since yellow it's the least color chosen for cars etc... you can mix and match etc. If everything fails you can speed and play not getting caught by the police lol lol
