How do you paste a jpg into photoshop CS3 without it losing color?

I am working on a project for a friend and it requires me to paste a scanned jpg picture onto my canvas. Fine no issues there. To my dismay, each time I paste it, it turns black and white. I have tried opening it in photoshop and then saving it as a psd file and pasting. No luck there. Any idea how I might do this? Thanks =)

  1. Okay well the 1st thing you need to do is to open Photoshop, open any document, THEN go to IMAGE -> MODE and if RGB Color is not checked then click on RGB COLOR.

If that doesn't work then check your scanners settings. Wish I could be more detailed but I don't know what kind of scanner you have.

    ;D

  2. Make sure that your color is set to RGB before you paste your file in. Go to Image-->Mode--> and click RGB. Then your image should paste in color. Hope that helps! :)
