  1. Add up all the things you owe and put it in one big pot it may look intimidating but once yo know where you are at you may be able to correct it. Once you got it all counted you can see if there is some way to consolidate it, if not then call the collectors most will work with you to set up a small monthly payment plan. Figure out what you can do to budget paying them off, it is going to seem like it will never get paid off but pay what you can. What ever happens remember they cant squeeze blood from a rock. I know it may seem insurmountable now, but hang in there. There is hope everything will work out.

  2. Your best bet, as stated in the other question, is to work out a payment plan with them.  Until you get that cleared up, they will not rent with you and most other place will not until it is taken care of.  It is a double edged sword.

Find a job and pay your debt.  Letting it lay dormant will only hurt you more.

  3. if your debit is to a hospital or a credit card do not ignore it contact people by mail or phone and tell them your situation try to make a small payment ( a good faith payment) tell them you will continue to make payment when you are back on your feet. But continue to make a small amount at the same time each month. If it is a credit card ask them if they stop the interest and ask for a lower amount but you will have to stop using the card. hope this is helpful.
