I don't wan't to hide them. I wan't to permanently delete them, so they don't load on startup which I heard can slow down the computer slightly. I have the volume there and some nvidia sound controller vlume graphic equalizer thingie there which both of them don't need to be there. Is there a way to permanently remove them from the notifcation area and not just hide them?

  1. You will have to go to each individual program's settings and remove or disable the tag for displaying it in the task bar. There is no other way to do it.

  2. a good startup manager will let you deselect programs that load with windows - use Autoruns - free here

    http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/AutoRun...

right click the zip file>extract all; then just double click autoruns.exe

once scanning has finished, see under the Logon tab - removing the check mark next to an item will prevent it loading - be careful not to disable essential items - to find out what a program is, right click it and search online for more info.

  3. There should be some sort of option in the program to show it in the taskbar or not. Maybe look around the settings of the programs to see if there's a way to change it.

  4. hmm do you mean the marks that are like bookmarks setting maps weather? or like the search engines?

  5. 1 right click on taskar

    2 properties

    3 notification area tab

4 untick the ones you dont want.

Secondly they dont slow the boot-up because their notifications, nvidia will because its a program, goto the settings menu on the program > set it to dont run when windows start, or enter 'msconfig, into the run commands > start-up tab > uncheck all your programs you have installed.
