How do you photograph someone wearing glasses, without the flash showing up in their glasses??

I want my subject to wear glasses, but I don't know how to photograph her without the reflection or my flash showing up in her glasses.

  1. Ask them to bring a pair that don't have any lenses in them... you could also try tilting the glasses or raising the lighting.


  2. Perk is right...the lighting shouldn't be too bright and the subject's head should tilted down slightly or turned a little. The tilting of the persons' head would also make for a better pose/picture.

  3. Simply take the pic outside without flash without her looking directly into the camera, problem solved. Or you invest in appropriate studio lighting and don't use the built in flash on the camera.

  4. The lights need to be raised, butterfly lighting is best to keep the shadows of frames from being distracting. The subjects chin should tilt down a bit.
