just add 1 on your idol's jersey number.. look at kobe.. changed his number to 24 (23 + 1).. olympics jersey # is 10 (9 + 1).. its like a statement that i'm next!

In high school they give you a choice from the jerseys they have. The best and senior athletes get first picks. In college and the NBA you pick your favorite number. If someone has the number already you pick another or the other person can give it to you. If professional sports some players are known for selling their numbers to new players on the team.
