  1. There are different braids for respective functional(work/training) or aesthetic(show) purposes.  Printed instructions are available.

  2. The word is plating its like french braiding a tail

now a mane is different and easier to do

The tail you have to really get it tight and use yarn to keep it in place longer

The mane is easier you can use rubber bands and or yarn its a basic braid

Go to a show and watch how they do it

Now you can much money at it

    I think about 45 for a mane and 50 -to 75 dollors a tail

    Good luck

  3. Hi!!

    1) Brush the horses tail, but do not use mane and tail conditioner as the hair is too soft to work with

    2) Take a section of tail from the left and one from the right and cross it over.

    3) Next take another section from the right and plait it with the other two, but do not carry on

4)Take a peice of hair and join it onto the peice on the right and plait again

    5) Then take a peice from the left hand side of the tail and join it to the peice on the left. Plait

    6) Carry on until you are at the end of the dock and stop taking sections and just plait to the end of the hair.

    7) Put a band at the end, and fold it underneath the french plait. Secure all of this with a second band.

    Note:

-When plaiting only do it once and then take some more hair otherwise it will be 'gappy'

-Keep it tight and in the centre
