I have the latest version of Windows MEDIA Player and my friends sent me a song that they recorded. But when ever i try to play it, it says 'DOWNLOAD LISCENSE' then i press download but the a box pops upi and says 'Your netscape does not hae Windows Media Services Plug-ins'

I've seriously tried everything.

  1. Weird. Download the program to your hard drive, and don't use Windows Media Player. Instead use a program like KMPlayer or Windows Media Classic. I prefer KMPlayer, it's a very powerful and insanely configurable (perhaps too much so for me) utility. And it's free.

You may also need to download some new codecs, but only do that after you try a different player. You can get new codecs by going to ... ummm, I forget. Google "download free codecs", it should be the first hit. I like the All-in-one XP pack, but you can also try downloading a "just audio" codec pack too.

If your friend is recording song files with windows media player, tell them to stop it. They should be using something else.... god, anything else...
