    The chart and the direction that the first lady said was correct.

    If you play a conservatory oboe, this is the time to use your 3rd octave key!


  2. Well, there are quite a few fingerings and alternate fingerings.  Some will give you better resonence than others and some are more in tune than others.  Here's a fingering chart for you:

    Personally, I prefer the "I 1--|1--" fingering, but it depends what other notes are around it and if it is part of a run.

    Remember: lots of air... don't be afraid to blow!
