  1. if they play zone work on the jump shots.. utilize the three point line and abuse them from there...

but what works best is if you all just try to "get inside" most likely they will clump in the middle leaving open lanes behind them open for back door cuts

remember zone covers the middle.. if you all try to come inside to the middle then the zone gets smaller and smaller, open for a back door sneak pass

every one should and MUST attack inside in all corners.. move with out the ball and some one in that zone d is bound to lose his man and there will be an open opportunity. also try to trap them for 3 seconds in the key.... its a pretty sneaky tactic but it will net you a free throw and  the ball back too

  2. lol pass cut and screen... man thats all you need to do to beat a 2-3, 1-3-1, 3-2 and every zone...

  3. Ball movement you can take advantage of the zone by making back door cuts.

Dribble Penetration is very effective in breaking down a zone. If the guard can dribble into gaps of the zone, multiple defenders must converge on the ball.

Quick passing against the zone leads three point shots. and zone defenses are less effective with teams that have really good three point shooters.

  4. well if they play zone you should be happy cause it gives you an outside shot. you could also screen for the point (if your a wing) roll out and shoot the three thats what i would do.

  5. quick ball movement always throws off a zone defense. get them out of position and take advantage.

  6. If it's a zone then your team needs to be good at shooting since you guys always will have open shots.

  7. First off, the easiest and most energy-consuming way to attack a zone is to launch the outside shot.

However, there are 'holes' in every zone. So, for example, if you penetrate the zone from the wing, chances are that you will find a nice area to pull up for a shot.

Also, running a simple motion offense can be useful when playing against a zone defense. To do this, have the point guard bring the ball up the floor, then have him drive right into the D before swinging the ball out to a wing. The guard then cuts to the closest baseline corner while the the wing with the ball brings the ball back to the top of the key.

This should create a lot of ball movement, if done properly and quickly. Eventually, one of the players should get an open look.

  8. Hit open shots.
