How do you play flash light tag?

This is SOOOO much fun for kids AND adults!

Here's the way I used to play.  You pick teams if you have a lot of people.  Let's say there are 18 people total.  Make 3 teams of 6.  Team 1 gets one flashlight while the other team hides.  Yes, this is like adult hide and seek, but works with kids, too.  You need to do it at night, outdoors with a decent amount of land to play on.  I'd say at least one acre is a good amount (hopefully with some trees and other obsticles).  Team 1 cannot turn the flashlight on until they count to, let's say 30.  During that time teams 2 & 3 hide.  You have to set limitations at the beginning of the game like; don't leave this area.  If you do you are out of bounds.  That way you aren't on other people's property, and the game is still fair.  Also there should be a goal set up to get to without being tagged.  If you make it there without being spotted by the flashlight you make points for your team.

Now the rest is just like hide and seek.  Team 1, with the ONE flashlight has to search together.  If you spot someone they are not tagged as caught until hit with the beam of light.  Your ears are your best friends in this game.  It's dark and you can't see and people will try to run right by you because you can't see them.  Some people choose to hide and stay hidden to let others on their team get to the goal.  You must find or account for all opposing team members before deciding who won the round, and so you don't lose someone in the woods ;-P.  Who ever got the most points gets the flashlight now.  

Always be aware of fences that may be around (been there, done that...clothes-lined).  It's great for adults to play with the kids, and it's great to play with just adults and while throwing a few back.  

Last tid-bit of info...  If you can't find someone and they are really trying to get you good...listen for heavy breathing.  They are allowed to move around during the game to try to avoid you and to also run to the goal.  If they stop running you can hear them breathe.  And you can also not see them in plain sight sometimes.  Just lay on the ground...

The way we play is like manhunt but at night and with flashlights lol.

the way i do it is make teams and both teams have flash lights  and when someone from the other team shines you with there flashlight you are out and the last team standing wins

the person that is "it" holds the flashlight and if they shine it on you, you are now it.
