well the object of the game is to not let your opponent get a touchdown and there are two sides defense and offense the offensive side is trying to score a touchdown and the defensive side is trying to keep you from scoring a touchdown so if you score a touchdown you get six points but you get an opportunity to score 7 or 8 by a 2 point conversion(a chance to score another touchdown for two points) or 7by a Field goal(when you kick the ball in the goal) and then you kick off the ball to the other team and then it carries on. the way you can score a touchdown is to run the ball up the Field or pass the ball to your receiver if you r talking about soccer then I'm lost

ok well its long but i think i can help. ill give basics. first you have a qb (quater back) which throws the ball to people on his team. Then you got safty who back the Qb up. Then you got linebackers and all the other people who catch the ball. Once the quatar back throws you the ball you must run and cant drop it or throw it again. There is 1st second third and fourth down. And then it shows how many yards you are fron getting first down. it looks like this ( 2nd and 8) it shows which down and how many yards for first down.
