On a feld with two teams of eleven players on each side.  One side has the ball and will attempt to get into the end zone while the other team will try to stop them.  The team has four tries to move the ball in ten yard increments, better known as downs.  If the team fail to move the ball the required ten yards to obtain another four tries or downs the ball is turned over to the other team who will try the same thing to score a touchdown.

The game is a little more complicated than this but I hope this may give you some idea how football is played.

Offense - Hold on to the ball for dear life.  Go that way, really fast.  If someone gets in your way, go around or through him.

Defense - See the guy with the ball?  Get him!
