How do you play gba games on the nds with a dstt or ttds?

I've got a nintendo ds NOT LITE. i use a ttds or dstt and nintendo ds games work fine however regular gameboy games don't work even though i change the end of the game to .gba changing the format to gameboy advance format. Do i have to buy something else or is there a download for this?
