I want to be on the t.v. playing good poker. How do I do this? Also, how do you know how to play against people who are bad? I think I'm pretty good, like I know what kinds of cards beat others, like A is better than K, and K is better than Q but not A, so how can I get a camera to record me for ESPN when I make my debut trip to the casino. I haven't played any in a casino, but I just know that I'll win, and I want the ESPN to see it since it'll be my first time.

  2. Go all in everytime -- works everytime!

  3. download and play truepoker com. Don't play anyone elses game. Only your own. When you got great cards make sure you win alot of money by building the pot. With crappy cards fold easily with huge bets. Don't really bluff unless you see obvious weakness in others. And when others appear to bluff, believe them and fold unless you have  guaranteed winners.

  4. Online poker WILL help you more than you think...it's a good place to learn betting patterns and other tells which I think are LOADS more helpful than physical tells, even in live poker. You're not just going to walk into a casino and start playing poker and suddenly have ESPN come in to record your play. It'll take a lot of practice and patience to become a great poker player. Most of the newer pros at the WSOP and WPT and everywhere else started online. Look at Joe Hachem...started out at Pokerstars and went on to win the main event of the WSOP. Don't be so quick to judge online poker as a dumb idea as to how to get better at playing poker. All the pros, just about, are playing online now. I'm not saying you should change your play based on the donks you'll find online and keep to that changed play when you get to a live tournament or you'll be broke quick. I'm just saying use it as a scratching post on your way to becoming a better player. You need a TON of hand experience to even have a chance at playing in the big leagues..and until you get some decent knowledge behind yourself, you'll be nothing but dead money, unless you just get lucky like that donk Greg Raymer...God I hate him...has he even won any other tournaments besides that ONE WSOP main event?

  5. Practice is the best way - even the younger pros will tell you that playing tens of thousands of hands is the only way to get better. Strong strategy, aggressive play and player reading ability is key. You need to understand game situatons, positional advantages, stack advantages and pay close attention to the tendencies of other players. You can fnd good information about strategy in books, but lots of live play goes a long way. If you want to get on the fast track and have money to burn enroll in one of the WPT boot camps.

  6. My suggestion would be to read a few books by the masters, then adapt and play more both online and in live tournaments.

All it takes however in a live tournament is one person to catch a break and you're done for.  Just remember that when you are on TV playing in the WSOP.

  7. You are probably a natural!

So what you should do is,  just scrape together all the money you can find and get on the next plane to Vegas!

    Good luck!
