How do you play spades with regular cards?

  1. You need 4 people, 2 partners each.  All the cards are dealt out.  The partners decide how many tricks they can take.  Spades are always trump.  The person to the left of the dealer starts out by playing a card, and play goes clockwise around the table.  Players must follow suit unless they do not have that suit, then they can play any card.  High card or a spade takes the trick.  Player winning the trick then plays.  

    Scoring - You get 10 points for every trick you bid and take and 1 point for every trick more than that.  For ex.  You bid 5 tricks and get 7.  You get 10 for each of the 5 and 2 for the other 2 tricks for 52 points.  If you fail to make your bid, you lose 10 points for the whole bid.  Ex.. You bid 5 tricks and only win 4, you lose 50 points
