How do you play this on guitar using tabs? READ DETAILS

yes i can read real music. here is the link to the tab http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/l/led_zeppelin/stairway_to_heaven_tab.htm in the first measure it says to play the 1st string 7th fret and the 4th string 6th fret at the same time but you cant play it as chord because the strings are not close to each other, right? so what do i do? please help i need to know what to do.. it continues to do this the entire song so before i start to learn it i need to make sure what to do. PLEASE HELP...THANKS

Sorry to say you're diving into the world of finger picking. No small pieces of plastic for you. It's basically using all of your fingers except for the little finger. Your example would be played with your thumb and ring finger, and around the fourth measure is a variation of an A minor chord played with the thumb, middle, and ring finger. Sometimes you can cheat a bit and continue using the pick and I use my ring finger to pluck the higher string. However, I only do that when the large gaped notes are few and far between. Unfortunately, you will not be able to cheat your way out of Stairway.
