How do you politely say you don't like driving in a vehicle with your father-in-law as the driver?

I'm 13 weeks pregnant, and my father-in-law LOVES tailgating, speeding, and turning his head to talk to you when driving. It makes me incredibly uncomfortable to drive with them, but I'm afraid of offending them because they take things very very very personally. We have tried offering to drive and letting them ride with us but they hate the idea because they feel like they are the hosts and should be doing everything for us as guests.

How do I politely tell them that I'm not comfortable with it without offending them?

Tell him you are very car sick lately and stay out of the car with him.  

I told my husband when he drives up someones bummer to  hook on to the car in front of us and then put the car in neutral we can save on gas.  

FYI your husband should have said something so you don't have to..

Especially now that you are pregnant, you can tell him that you get more nauseous -  heightened morning sickness - when you are a passenger and see if he would mind if you drove.

Use your pregnancy to your advantage.  Can't sit in back makes you nauseous, moving to fast also does and on and on.  Mention how you don't get sick when your driving and then your husband backs you up and says how you always drive now.

You know my dad is the exact same way and he has wrecked one of my cars a few times. At first to be polite I just took the keys and said you know I really like driving im not a good back seat driver. Then one time he insisted and I just blurted out. You freak me out when you drive... It wasn't on purpose I just got scared he was going to drive lol and it blurted out. Well he didn't take offense. He actually thought it was funny. But different people would react different ways.
