How do you potty train a 4 year old to p**p on the potty.He knows its wrong?

IF it is a training issue only: Do NOT put him in a  diaper or pullups. Does he use a potty chair or just the toilet? Some are afraid of the p**p "leaving" (flushed). Typical. Use M&Ms, whatever he likes after he goes potty. Buy some Dollar Store items or party favors (age appropriate, of course), LOTS of them. Put them into a box that you decorate, labels POTTY PRIZES. Even take a picture of him with his box. Tell him, when he poops, he picks a  prize. Put the box away when he does NOT p**p, out of sight. Then, when you think he has to go, get the box..make it visible. Remind him, Big boys go potty.

If not training issue: What does the PED/DR say? Did he fall into the toilet when pooping before? Does he need a smaller "toddler seat" to place on top of the potty ring? Has something in the bathroom scared him? My daughter had a pooping problem at that age. It was a physical defect, so it COULD be medical.

is he still wearing pull up/diapers? if so, get rid of them. Get him some nice spiderman undies, he'll like them and won't want to mess them up. When he does go, make it a big deal, give him prizes and tell him he's a big boy and how proud you are!

haha my mom was having the same prob with my lil bro.....we just made him a potty chart and let him go to the store choose his favorite kind and he's nottttt allowed to have them unless he goes to the potty......IT TOTALLY WORKED....idk why lol but it's inexpensive and he loves it!

do you mean to teach him how not to go on the potty...because your question sounds like you are asking us to tell you how to train him to go ON the potty not In...then saying he knows its bad?

This may sound harsh but I had a friend that potty trained her daughter by placing her on the potty after she's pooped in her panties or pull up and place it in her lap while she's sitting there.....believe me, after she sits there smelling p**p in her lap, she'll be happy to start going to the potty!
