I haven't potty trained a kid in about 10yrs and now the 2yr old that I sit for, his mom wants to start training him. I think he's too young, but it's what the mom wants. Any new tricks that work?

  1. I started with my kids when they were dry after nap time.  This ranged in age from 15 months to 2 years.  Then we had potty time.  Most other parents do this at bath time and day cares have the potty line before naps.  Every body sits and then move on to the next activity.  Showing my kids what I was doing helped then understand what the goal was.

  2. a lot of praise!!

I am working on my 2 year old right now.

We have got going #2 down packed. I just kept on praising him when he did it and made a game out of it.

Now when he goes #2, I hear him say to himself "Good Boy!!"

We are working on peeing right now. Its harder than going #2 because I can't show him how to stand up and pee!!

    GOOD LUCK!!

  3. I put fruit loops in the toilet and told my son to shoot at them.  He was 2 1/2 when he was fully trained and he was pee trained in about a week.

  4. put blue food dye in the potty and when he pees it will turn green.

  5. hes 2 def old enough

  6. Tell him to stand up, wiggle his hips, and tell him to think about waterfalls.

  7. my son is two also, I have always let him go in the bathroom with me when I go, he knows how to wipe cause he sees mommy do it, just give him the option and ask him if he needs to go pottty, even if he says no, take him in there put him on the potty sit there with him for about 5 minutes singing reading whatever you can, and when his is done wether he goes or not praise him for being on there, I usually give mine a cracker or a piece of candy so that he associates going potty with a reward. Hope this helps
