How do you pray the salah for Shab-e-Barat?

Do not create burdens and rituals on yourself as the people before Islam did.

The difference is

1. In shab-e-barat after Isha you do nafal nammaz

2. you wake up all day

3. its inportant to keep a roza on that day inshallah

How can one deny the importance of such a great day which has been told to us by our Prophet (s). You see mostly people go into either of extreme ways regarding many of similar matters.  Some take it for a festival while others reject any importance. The vitue of this night is told in authentic hadith:

Aboo Hurayrah, ‘Aa’ishah, and other companions (may Allaah be pleased with them) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allaah looks upon His creation on the middle of the night of Sha’baan, and He forgives all of His creation, except for a mushrik or a quarreler.” (al-Majmoo’Recorded by al – Bazzaar, at – Tirmithee, and others. Classed as Saheeh by Sheikh al – Albaanee in as – Saheehah, Number 1144)

Now the question comes as what to be done in this night. This is where we get no specific answer. It is because a specific prayer for this day is not reported through authentic hadith. Scholars of Fikh needs Authentic hadith for ruling over something. But when saying virtues, weak narrations are acceptable. So what should a believer do when Allah is offering his forgiveness in a particular night. A Night when all of His creation get's forgiven except Mushrikoon and quarreler. Is not be wise for us to utilize the moments of such a night in good deeds and to do things that pleases Allah. Also self exam ourselves if we are committing any forms of Shirk or quarrel with someone. Spend whatever of our time we can in recitation of Holy Quran, Prayers and supplications. But don’t specify anything as a Sunnah.

It is a sad with us that we are ready to awake the whole night to watch a world cup or engage in any other entertainments. But when we hear of those pious men of Allah who stood the whole night in prayer and dua knowing it’s virtue, we say it a bid’aa and an innovation. Of course there are much innovations associated with this night as lighting, functions and so on.... But are we to reject the importance of a night in Islam just because innovators celebrate it.

What I know is that the night of mid of Sha'ban has importance according to authentic hadiths. But for recommending specif prayers and fasting on this particular night and the following day scholars say there are no sound hadith to backup. Also what I heard from scholars about the verse you mentioned is for Laylathul Qadr. The night when Holy Quran was sent down and it is in the blessed month of Ramadan.

The Messenger of Allaah Sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said: "Allaah the Blessed and Most High looks to His creation on the middle night of Sha'baan and forgives all of His creation except for the one who ascribes partners to Him and the one who shows enmity."

Sha be brarat ,is nothing .its a night invented by some people .as there is no authentic hadith which support this night

Thre is a night Laila tul mubarikah in ramadan ,odd nights of last ten nights

there is big reward for ibadah in this night

Well, i did it yesterday..

i read Alhamdthulillah and then read cul hu 10 times, i then the shezthda and then did alhamthulilah again with the 10 times cul hu , it was two rakat.. now your meant to do that procedure 50 times, which makes 100 rakat

After you have done that you do a very long dua < all your wishes and Allah takes your sins away.
