How do you prepare land for farming?

I have about 10 acres of land that has been neglected for many years. Right now the land is covered with weeds. I am planning to move to the land and would like to have a hobby farm. I'm not sure how to create good pasture. I am interested in starting with goats, chickens, and a vegetable garden.

Your local County Agent can give you all the answers for free. If you consider your tax money free.  RScott

You would need to get all the grass cut down and then if you want to have a garden you need to get the ground tilled. You would have to have a fence built in order to keep the animals in. You can go on-line and look up sites that will help you out. Or contact your local county extension office.
