i am interested in learning how to go on point (if that's what you call it). i have no dance experience and i was wondering if anyone could tell me about exercises that would help me to be able to. lessons are out of the question due to financial restraints, plus i think i'm too old for any dance schools to want to take me in.

  1. DONT! You can break your toes without the right guidence and preperaton

  2. You need experience in ballet before going on pointe.  If you can't take classes, I don't recommend trying pointe shoes as you could hurt yourself badly!  As for your age, you are NEVER too old to start ballet (you didn't mention your age).  If you can afford to take classes, you should, no mater what your age. Most studios have a beginning class for teens and adults.  Try asking a family member to help pay for a class for you; it's the only way to learn ballet.  Good luck to you, I hope you work out the financial aspects so you can benefit from this wonderful form of dance!

  3. Sorry but you really HAVE to take classes to go on pointe other wise you could REALLY injure yourself. You need at least 5 years of training before going on pointe.
